Say Hello to Summer & Goodbye to Allergies, with LloydsPharmacy

22nd May 2019: With the arrival of the brighter evenings and budding blossoms, the sneezy season can cause suffering for those with hay fever. Hay fever or seasonal allergic rhinitis as it is known medically, is a common allergic condition that is estimated to affect around 20% of people. Luckily, LLoydsPharmacy have a range of non-medicated and medicated products available to treat you and your family’s stuffy symptoms of hay fever.

People of all ages can suffer from hay fever and it affects up to one in five people at some point in their lives and though allergies cannot be completely cured, there are a number of treatments available to relieve symptoms. Symptoms such as runny noses and itchy, watering eyes can be alleviated by a wide range of over the counter products which predominantly contain antihistamines to block the production of histamine in the body.

LloydsPharmacy is fully stocked with many products such as Cetrine, Piriton, Flixonase, Opticom, and Hay Band which will help combat this common condition.

Cetrine and Piriton are non-drowsy anti-allergy medicines which help control allergy symptoms such as sneezing, running or itchy eyes, itching palate and runny or itchy nose.

Flixonase is a nasal spray which prevents and relieves nasal congestion and works quickly to stop sneezing, itchy and runny noses. Eye drops such as Opticrom Allergy are recommended for itchy, watery, red or inflamed eyes and puffy eye lids.

Hay Band is a  drug-free alternative to treating hay fever. The Hay Band, which has been developed by acupuncturists, relieves symptoms by exerting a small amount of pressure on the arm where energy can be pulled away from the head.

Don’t let sneezing ruin your summer months. Visit one of the 90 LloydsPharmacy stores nationwide and speak to a Pharmacist for the best advice on how to relieve your symptoms. Many LloydsPharmacy stores are open late at night and at the weekend meaning services are available at a time that suits you.
